Two Rutherford scattering measurements are made. In experiment A, α-particles of kinetic energy 5 MeV scatter from a foil of atomic number 40 and are detected at 60°. In experiment B, α-particles of kinetic energy 10 MeV scatter from a foil of atomic number 80 and are detected at 120°. All other factors are identical. If the count-rate ratio N(A) ÷ N(B) is N, find N.
